First announced in 2006, the facility represents an investment commitment of $1 billion and opens up extensive new opportunities for economic development in Vietnam. SunCatcher là thiết bị hứng ánh nắng mặt trời có hình một chiếc đĩa lớn làm bằng các tấm gương và kim loại, trông xa như một bông hoa bạc khổng lồ. Với chiều cao 3 feet (tương đương 11m), thiết bị này to gần bằng bốn lần loài hoa chân bê khổng lồ trong rừng Sumatra (Indonesia) – loài hoa lớn nhất thể giới.

The ‘Global Wind Energy Outlook 2010’ (GWEO 2010) finds that wind power could play a key role in satisfying the world’s increasing power demand, while at the same time achieving major greenhouse gas emissions reductions. Tương tự, nếu lắp biến tần cho quạt hút, đẩy mức đầu tư cần thiết là 125 triệu đồng, mỗi năm tiết kiệm được 130 triệu, thời gian hoàn vốn khoảng 1 năm.

Vietnam wants to further promote cooperation with Japan, the country’s top partner, in the spirit of strategic partnership for mutual benefit, said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. There are more than two billion people worldwide with no access to drinking water. This is the reason why researchers over the globe are trying to find solutions such as desalination. This reverse osmosis of water is the most efficient and economical form of desalination but the problem is that it needs 3 kWh per cubic meter of water. Solar panels and wind turbines can be used to supply this power.

A workshop was held recently by a gas engine research team of the Da Nang University with support of Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) through the Go Green Program to assess the results of the implementation of the second stage of the project titled “Small-scaled Electricity Production from Biogas” in some provinces of central Vietnam.
