The Renault DEZIR, or the desire of any new-age, science-fiction addict, hot-blooded obsessed rock star (or less) is the masterpiece of Renault’s design team and one of the best car designs (in terms of sexiness) I have ever seen. Renault DeZir occupies a central piece at this year’s Paris auto show, with all the other sports cars fading into anonymity (ok, well, perhaps Jaguar’s new masterpiece or Citroen’s Survolt will keep up).

According to the Danish climate commission, the country will gets its electricity from wind farms, developing an energy network entirely free of fossil fuels by 2050. The committee also said that biomass and wind energy could meet the bulk of the country’s energy requirements.

Beacon Power, a major player in flywheel energy storage, is now working with U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E) on the development of a next-generation of flywheel storage. The new flywheel storage system is expected to be able to store 4 times as much energy as present flywheels, and at one-eighth the per kilowatt-hour cost.

Utilizing what we have in a wiser way could lead us to something worth it. As the famous line goes, “everything has its purpose” no matter how small or big it is. It also includes waste products such the awful pet poop, specifically dog poop. In Cambridge, Massachusetts, a dog park hasn’t been considering these dog poop a waste at all. In fact, in has turned out to be a very useful.

Kia has brought its latest innovation at the 2010 Paris auto show in the form of an electric car called “POP“, which aims to take small cars to the next step and integrate them into a trend that only a few years ago had been considered science fiction. Featuring an organic transparent LED display, the KIA POP surprises through its innovative shapes, pleasant to look at and though not strikingly UFO-like.

The conference is to assess the results of the phase II of the project "Production of small scale electricity from biogas" in some central provinces, conducted by the air engine researching team of the University of Da Nang (UD) with the support of Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) through the Go Green program.

A very large solar solar-powered yacht called Planet Solar has set out on a 31,000 mile trip around the globe. It is estimated it will maintain an average speed of 7.5 knots per hour. At that speed it should take about 160 days to travel around the planet.

Prominent corporations are paying special attention to go green and create a conducive environment for clean and green energy. Walmart too is taking appreciative steps in the field of alternative energy. In the year 2007, Walmart entered into a partnership with Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) to provide a thrust to the photovoltaic technologies. It was related with thin-film solar. They aimed for taking it out from labs to the real world.

Solar cells currently used are mostly bulky and made from silicon and other non-recyclable materials, hence they’re not as green as they should be. Mimicking nature might be a solution to this problem. More exactly, North Carolina State University researchers have prototyped a water-based solar cell, mimicking the functioning of a leaf, to produce electricity.

This weekend, automobile maker Jaguar introduced it’s newest supercar at the Paris Motor Show. The new concept vehicle sets new standards for green vehicles and showcases technology for the future of electric motoring. The Jaguar C-X75 concept car is a first of it’s kind to sport both an electric powered engine in concert with a jet turbine engine, which tops out in at an impressive speed of 205 mph.
